Lucas Silva de Oliveira, our visiting PhD-student from Brazil, has successfully defended his PhD-thesis in history at Universidade Estadual de Maringá. His thesis is focusing on the representation of policies of British governments in their contemporary Judge Dredd comics: ”He Is the Law! Judge Dredd and Neoliberal Punitivism in England (1977–2010)” / ”Ele é a Lei! Juiz Dredd e o Punitivismo Neoliberal na Inglaterra (1977-2010)” under supervision by João Fábio Bertonha. He came to K3 for six months during 2025 to benefit from the much-hub as a research environment and especially for Jakob Dittmar’s and Gunnar Krantz’ additional supervision.
